Pretty good haul from the dump today! It was town's annual "anything goes" dumping day, and I was able to volunteer for this one. Snagged a lot of neat stuff before it got scrapped, including:

3x CRT televisions (including a Trinitron, all working)
A half dozen AXIS PTZ IP cameras
An IBM Model M keyboard
A pair of Motorola walkie talkies
A TP Link Archer A6 router NiB
A Macbook Air (A1932) with a busted screen
A working PS4 (no accessories though)
A NiB Onkyo 6 Disc CD changer
A top loading VCR

People with throw away *anything*, it's a real shame. But at least some of this will get used or passed on to folks who will use it!

@notthatdelta In my head I know people just have different contexts and I can't blame them… but my heart can't imagine throwing out any CRT or Model M. Surely you have *a* Smash player/keyboard nerd in your life! Just give it to them!
@CyrikCroc Right?? Of course you never know what folks are dealing with so I try to cut people some slack, but at the same time the thought processes that allow one to throw out *anything* without checking its value are completely alien to me.
@notthatdelta nice! I volunteered at a local e-waste recycling event once and was able to snag a few old laptops for a robotics group I was in at the time. The following year they changed the rules so nobody could keep anything though; everything had to go in the bins

@SuperSluether I might be the reason the rules change at this event next year :P

It's too bad they cut you out like that, but at least you were able to snag something! They actually have rules at this one regarding anything with a memory card/hard drive; I only got the Macbook Air on a technicality (I asked the donator directly if I could take it for personal use and he agreed to give it to *me*, not the event).

The event staff didn't care about the PS4, oddly enough.
