Whitespace isn’t decoration. It’s a cognitive tool. The gaps between elements signal hierarchy, group related content, and reduce the mental load of parsing a screen. When designers treat negative space as wasted real estate, they’re optimizing for density over comprehension.

@uxbrad @uxbrad I partly disagree. There‘s also an overuse of #whitespace in today‘s apps and websites. For #powerusers it‘s annoying if they have 37“ screens and look at … 50% white space instead of the important data and functions. There should always be a way to select a compact space or better … a more freely #customisable screen layout.
