Through collaborations with artists and makers we have invited different voices and responses to the work. Whether that be the censored version of Mengrin's implied femme fatale - where Sappho makes you look her in the eye by leaning on her censored bar, the playful figurine of Sappho as the idol, a Sapho the Legend bag that challenges how a painting mythicises a female historical figure, or a celebration of the artistry of a painting you can hang on your wall.

@meagantrott Manchester Art Gallery saw that this painting resonates and ran with it, and the results are delightful :D A good chunk of their physical gift shop is Sappho and it's hard to be annoyed by it.
(I *am* disappointed that they didn't have a single solo book of Adolphe Valette's paintings, despite having probably the largest public collection of his work, much of which was of Manchester ;o;)
