How'd it get there past Trump #borderClosures, Trump #quarantines & at least 1 other county? #NWS is a parasitic fly, it does not care about borders. The 9,209 people in #ZavalaCounty #Texas as of the 2024 census are about to go through some things. They're dumping millions of radioactivly sterilized #Screwworm flys and using ground release stations in the 20 km "quarantine" "infested zone" around the detection. The sterilized flys don't eat flesh, only the magots, so they aren't a danger because obviously they can't produce eggs but they're going to be EVERYWHERE. Expect human & animal screenings with quarantine movement restrictions.

They have been marking the sterilized flys with a UV dye visible under a blacklight, which can be found online for fairly cheap at the moment, so if anyone finds an unmarked screwworm fly they can report the detection. Obviously this is useless for anyone that can't afford a blacklight as everyday carry. You're also looking for what's hopefully only a few hundred fertile flys if they caught the 1st case among millions of sterilized.
