4 months ago, @nygl moved server instances, to aus.social. I immediately followed his new account, as we were both active in the #GlobalTalk community. Recently I realized I hadn't seen any posts or DMs from him since that change. Looking at his profile, it seems like he's been totally inactive. But I suspect that's not the case. I don't think I've given him reason to block me. What would explain this? Is there something else one needs to do when following an account that is migrated?
@_the_cloud @nygl I was wondering the exact same thing just this morning. I hope he's ok.
@onegeekarmy @nygl Well, it sounds like everyone else is seeing 0 posts from Nigel, so it's not just me. Could be a privacy setting on his end, or he's sworn off Mastodon for a while, or as @jexner said, life has gotten in the way. It appears he's still posting on LinkedIn, but I don't have an account there. Hopefully all is well.
@_the_cloud @onegeekarmy @nygl @jexner Perhaps a Powermail email? :-) I've gone and forgotten his zone but I think the machine Powertalk was active on was “oakleymac” or something similar (how come I remember that but not his #globaltalk zone name?).
@fergycool @onegeekarmy @nygl @jexner Good thought. His "Wandal" zone is not online and therefore OakleyMac isn't accessible. However, PowerMail will just keep retrying until it succeeds, so I sent an email anyway.
@fergycool @onegeekarmy @nygl @jexner And mere minutes after I did so, Nigel replied to an earlier PM I sent. As speculated, he's doing ok but is purging social media for a bit and focusing on work.
