people still on substack are like "(fetches fainting couch) but mah clicks! my metrics!" You know what, fuck your clicks, fuck your metrics, and FUCK YOU. Grow a backbone, you absolute cowards. I do not, and will not, give any quarter to fundamental assaults on human dignity and civil rights.
@codinghorror I created a filter using the keyword "substack", which was working great for a while. Unfortunately, that seems to have been removed from a lot of their URLs now. After getting fooled into opening a bunch of 'stealth' links where you can't tell until you scroll all the way to the bottom, I've now added a filter for "/p/" and that seems to be catching the rest (so far). Fuck shitstack! 🤬
@DukeDuke @codinghorror I don’t think it’s been ‘removed’ from the URLs, it’s always been a paid-for feature to use your own domain. So anyone who’s done that has actually chosen to give substack their own real money and not just not a cut of their subscribers’ money. I understand there’s a cdn you can block to get them all, because there are themes that are remarkably similar between substack, ghost and beehiiv.
@clare_hooley @DukeDuke @codinghorror Yes, if you block substackcdn.com then any SS site will show up without its CSS regardless of domain, acting as a warning.
