So, this is inside baseball, Dallas version. Once upon a time, #Dallas was an art town. There was large scale public support for things like murals and sculpture and things in public spaces.

In 1992, and for 14 more years, bunches of local artists were invited to come paint areas that were graffiti magnets. And thus was the Good Latimer Deep Ellum Arts project born. (Disclaimer, I had a 10’x12’ mural under the bridge before it was demolished).

One of the artists who really threw himself in was muralist Robert #Wyland, who painted Whaling Wall 82 at the Aquarium. Truly one of the most amazing pieces of public art in Dallas.

They painted over it for FIFA. It has become a tradition for capitalists to destroy the commons in Dallas.

If there’s one thing the new breed of Capital cannot abide, it’s proof that we continue apace without their approval.

They are afraid of #art. Good. Have paint, will travel.

@MissConstrue Fuck FIFA.
@ZenHeathen @MissConstrue I mean yeah, fuck FIFA but, I seriously doubt this was requested by them. Fuck Dallas City Council for letting it happen.
@FeloniousPunk @ZenHeathen This was such a clusterfuck, nobody is taking responsibility, but yes at its core, Dallas leadership fell down.
