New Yabridge/Wine combination with less quirks!

Couldn't install Gullfoss with wine-cachyos, so decided to try the latest Wine 11.9, and when I was changing things up, I wanted to see the status of the Yabridge project.

The latest build (not released yet, or merged to master or what they say) fixes the mouse offset and resizing of windows: https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge/actions/runs/25067934796

The only quirk I could find was first click in a window has no effect, after that it just works.

This also means I will no longer have to live with the "Some plugins crash the plugin sandbox"-quirk, which I had prioritized over the mouse offset issue.

Correction: It's more stable, but there are few plugin vendors who's plugins still have fixed GUIs (you can move the knobs, but the GUI doesn't show movement) and a few who's plugins crash. But it's much better and most plugins just works out of the box.

And Gullfoss is working, yay!

@mosgaard
So you enjoy working with gullfoss? Would you consider it essential to your workflow?

@ctenidium I like Gullfoss, but it’s not essential to my workflow.

It’s the “I’m not where what to do in the mix now, let’s try Gullfoss and see what happens”-kind of plugin. So I reach for it, when I reach the limits of my own mix-skills and the mix still feels a little bit of tbh.

@mosgaard
Haha, I can totally relate!
I appreciate that you are so honest about it.

@ctenidium you’re welcome!

It’s perhaps a little expensive for that kind of plugin, especially since I also have Soothe, which I use a lot to control harshness and resonance.
