@g7vkq @dtl @n8dmt The place that showed me the Tropical Fish caps were a thing has quite good prices on silver mica caps. I found them after recoiling from the pricing I saw on e.g. DigiKey.

I bought a boxed assortment for <$10 (sadly they seem to be sold out of this now).

@grajohnt @dtl @n8dmt that’s the trouble - you need to buy the bargains when you see them. I bought ‘a few’ SMD caps in various sizes (like 250000) for a few pounds when one of the electronics component houses was selling them at £2.50/reel. Makes for a pretty good starter kit😊
