"The US is worried because of the Netherlands withholding the overtake of a company that holds SUPER SENSITIVE data on all Dutch citizens

THEY are worried? The whole reason they stopped this deal is because we are worried

The US cannot be trusted, especially with sensitive data

Really.. the balls on this one..
@stux⚡️ Question is: will our government keep its foot down once the Tantrum Toddler starts threatening with tariffs and whatnot...

@stux Their comic-book evil regime is so easy to read.
@stux they are mostly worried more will follow this example, as they should.
@schmitzel76 @stux how are you doing today dear
@stux
The tech bros are worried because their LLMs need all the information known to mankind or they won’t work
@stux The US should have never been trusted. I live in the US and I don't trust the government nor businesses one iota. They are all war criminals and friends of Epstein, or ok with it.

@stux The US passed an act which forces any US company to hand over any data the US state asks for

Any data, no matter where in the world it's located or who it belongs to, if it's on a US server Trump has it

@staringatclouds @stux Yes, the CLOUD Act. It extends to servers owned by US corporations regardless of where the data is actually stored: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CLOUD_Act

Which is exactly the kind of overreach they accused the Chinese of and forced the sale of Tiktok over.

@stux

Last sentence is complete at the comma. <3

Why these tech titans joined Trump in Saudi Arabia

A cavalcade of tech leaders was on hand in the Saudi capital for an investment summit presided over by President Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Washington Post
@Npars01 @stux the US did very well out of WWII. Held the UK its financial hostage for decades after the war.

@stux

Well, really....
The US cannot be trusted.

@stux Sitting here realizing that the best you could hope for is to have your private records strewn about a bathroom in Maralago. That's the "Top Secret" treatment.
@stux That it even came up in Dutch heads that this might be a good idea — not necessarily with the US, but that's like doubly egregious, *any* other country, especially outside the EU — continues to deal me flabbergast damage.
@stux in Australia our government is going to give the US super sensitive data that they hold about us citizens to the US. Not even a separation. Not even some private companies fault. Our government under #labor are going to do it.
@stux It depends on how you give them your data. I read about an incident many years ago where a "madam" cheerfully handed over all her customer records, stored on old-style floppy disks - to the police. Along with a very big magnet.
@stux they're worried that CIVILISED BL---Y GOVERNMENT might take over the world and chuck out all the fascists!
