Synapse Matrix server is just a beast. I am migrating from an OpenBSD VPS to Debian and even on a “supported” platform it’s infuriating. Can we just go back to jabber?

@nick I suspect that getting people to call it jabber is not going to be easy (I know somebody who is trying :D ), but XMPP has never gone away :)

(I've been running my own server for a few years, now, and it's quite easy even for a lazy person)

@valhalla Unfortunately, with the majority of open-source projects moving to Matrix within the KDE sphere, it's Matrix or Bust. The simplicity of XMPP is not lost on me, but the market has moved on it seems :(
