The package itself was slightly damaged, but luckily books themselves are perfectly fine.
I can't wait to read the whole series again and possibly share it with my friends
Thanks @davidrevoy and Silly Studios for your hard work ❤️
We are those who should thank you.@szkodnix @davidrevoy Got the same package, and also really happy about it <3.
(You’ll pry the collector English 3rd volume with its Italian side from my dead hands, I’m keeping it).
@davidrevoy @szkodnix Btw, was the tavern that last episode of Pepper and Carrot, or do you have more in the pipeline ?
(Also Pepper & Carrot has not been printed in French, right ?)
@Sobex @szkodnix It is printed in French since ten years now, search for "Pepper et Carrot, edition Glénat". But they never did the Artbook.
About the "Episode 39: The tavern", no, it's not the last episode, I'm continuing, surely but slowly. It's frustrating because I spent the past month on many Yak Shaving (operating system, Krita release and videos, improving MiniFantasyTheater, etc... ).
I'm right now at the Layout step of the episode 40. I'll try to make a post on the blog about it!
@davidrevoy @szkodnix Ohhhh, my wallet is trying to hide under a piece of furniture, I wonder why.
More seriously, from a Traduttore Traditore perspective which language is the best to read Piper Carotaque in ? (French, English, or Latin ?)
@Sobex @szkodnix 😆 Poor wallet!
In my opinion, it's the English version: I wrote many episodes in English, or with the English version in mind. To the point of where I wrote them in French (it happened too during a long period) the changes that happened in the English version immediately translated during the proofreading process were all backported to the French later (before opening to other languages on the repo). Almost all 69 translations on the website derivate from the English one too.
@davidrevoy i was a bit taken aback by the amount of self-recrimination. :)
It's a mistake. It happens. And yes, "collector edition!" came to my mind also (even though I don't plan on parting with these books any time soon). :)
@jenesuispasgoth @davidrevoy @szkodnix
I wonder if a sticker could be made to fix the mistake at a lower cost than a reprint.
Anyway, this suggest we should just go back to having a single edition, in Latin.
Piper Carotaque: Liber III Regina Qualiurbis
@Sobex @jenesuispasgoth @szkodnix Piper & Carota in Latin is a thing! https://www.peppercarrot.com/la/webcomic/ep03_The-secret-ingredients.html
Yes, I also read the post on Kickstarter; they really blame themselves too hard for that. 😅
@davidrevoy @jenesuispasgoth @szkodnix Hmm, "Ave Domine" that doesn't sound quite right, if I remember my reading of https://acoup.blog/2022/04/15/collections-expeditions-rome-and-the-perils-of-verisimilitude/ (Domine is very strong, only used for a slave's master (or for the emperor, Diocletian onwards).
But that's still awesome !
(Sadly I am not a classicist, so I wouldn't be able to actually submit traduction improvements. I still think there's a missed opportunity by using & instead of -que)
Sweet! I got the collectors edition with the SPECIAL spine.
(and a damaged box, but the books seem ok).
Hopefully will get mine soon in Finland!
