Today’s winner is ensuring that as this community scales, it remains protected from digital threats. Cyentific AS is a cybersecurity innovation center from Oslo, Norway, specializing in AI-driven security for critical infrastructure. They are experts in protecting Cloud–Edge–IoT environments and have helped develop international open standards for threat detection and response. Within O-CEI, they are developing HYPEREDGE-SG to bring high-level cybersecurity to decentralized energy systems. By deploying a specialized security stack directly at the network edge, they can monitor device behavior and validate control commands in real-time. This "explainable" security model ensures that sensitive energy assets, like solar inverters and EV chargers, operate safely without relying on central servers that may be miles away. This project provides a vital blueprint for the thousands of energy communities emerging across Europe.
