@cmconseils sama prawda. Zbieranie danych dorosłych to tylko kwestia czasu aż zostanie wykradziona i wykorzystana
@cmconseils Migrate to social media platforms that do not actively promote hate in order to increase retention, ad revenue, and through that profit extraction?

@cmconseils that'd be funny if, in reality, there actually were parental controls in every OS/device and you couldn't find porn in any image search engine. You know?

The real question is: why AREN'T there better controls already?

@dtwx @cmconseils I think the meme was referring to parenting as in talking with the child.
@bjarne @cmconseils like "Don't accidentally image search for porn"? That sort of talk... ?
@cmconseils Remove content selection algorithms!!!
@cmconseils
Let's force corporations not to promote content that is dangerous to people regardless of their age.
@cmconseils Reminds me of the 90s/early 2000s when the same thing happened with video games

Bart Allen

Yeah, but video game publishers pushed back and looked for “compromises” that really just leaned into the “make parents parent” narrative. Social media and “AI” companies are the one’s proposing these laws this time, as it absolves them of all respponsibility to be responsible hosts, and it gives them even more information about us.

@cmconseils the cold hard reality is it's making it even harder for parents: I've just had to teach my kid how to use proton vpn to access piratebay just to stream shit to the telly, took me almost 15 mins to upskill him.

@cmconseils truth be told I don't like this "make parents actually parent" argument; the demands of capitalism and the dissolution of a sort of community parenting make that impossible to do around the clock.

So in that sense I'm with the commenters suggesting we make the internet safer for everyone.

@Immy @cmconseils

End capitalism so people have the chance to engage in critical human activities like parenting.

@cmconseils ban content selection algorithms and predatory business practices...

@cmconseils As a parent, I worry more about the lack of tools to protect children over the "need" to identify them. That's just trying to steal children's info with false security reasons.

I checked Roblox parent's settings and they are horrible! I miss Club Penguin in this regard: coins were a way to incentivize playing the mini games, not a way to incentivize kids to annoy the parents for their money and create many other bad habits in them.

@cmconseils

Where is the Unicorn business plan in that? And how is TIA supposed to be maintained?

Thoughtless suggestion /s

@cmconseils Clearly from what I experience in public, manners and honour and respect seem to not to be taught or cultivated.

For many, it is a take-take life, with scant and indifferent regard of who gives.

@cmconseils IMHO, education.

Kids will protect themselves if they know how. Every kid becomes an adult in time.. the sooner they understand what they are dealing with the better informed their choices. And the hate mongering surveillance platforms will quickly become empty.

Platforms that offer the right tools to encourage people engage respectfully will become prevalent.

We adults can help by building these platforms now.

At least that is my hope!

@cmconseils “it’s the parents fault!” Is such a great way for ruthless corporations to go on extracting and abusing without taking any kind of responsibility.
