Unless you just mean understanding that it's not "the olds" but "the rich," in which case my young brain chemistry is perfectly capable of understanding that. The only old people who are a problem are the ruling class, who are just much more visible than the old people stuck in poverty, or those already dead. Sorry it gets pinned on all of you so often :/

@drdrowland then I guess you and I have gotta get on it to avoid what @crazyeddie said, because from what I've seen millennials and gen Z aren't keeping them in check very well yet either 😅 it's easy to blame people who have had more time, but it's hard to actually use that time effectively and so far I don't think I've kept a single fascist in check despite my best efforts.

HakeemGUnfortunately, Mamdani didn't balance the budget by taxing second homes, he did it by cutting a billion dollars from education and housing. I would much rather he have cut the bloated 5.7 billion dollar police budget, but yes the media criticisms of Mamdani from the right are disingenuous.

The greater outrage stems from the fact we are made to burn our money, while the richest people have the federal government print directly into their pockets to buy up and destroy our lives
