1. Vagabond son & DIL sent me the photo below of a black-footed albatross, seen from their Caribbean cruise. (Closest I’ll ever get to that magical species.)
2. Heard the first trills from our neighborhood mockingbird yesterday. This one sounds has a particularly sophisticated repertoire, with brilliant clarity.
3. Fave dinner last night: halibut & yams; yum!

It’s a true albatross, just differently colored, and smaller. Wiki has a good article on the species.

@cynblogger hmm - they don’t belong in the caribean — boobies do. And the wings and beak don’t say albatross from this photo. But I wasn’t there to see it, just wondering

@cynblogger look where its eye is - on the pale beak area - then look a t a black footed albatross, where the eye is, and you'll see the difference.
