@adhd_coffee An image of a person sitting at an outdoor table with a large white sign attached to the front. The person is wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and is holding a black mug. The table also holds white papers, and the background shows trees and a building in an outdoor setting. The text on the sign reads, "Most people don't actually hate having ADHD; they hate the capitalist demand for 9-to-5 linear productivity that makes having it a disability. CHANGE MY MIND".

@adhd_coffee No, I friggin' HATE it. I'm sick and tired of forgetting even the things I like and want.

Suffering with a headache for six hours because the pills are in the bathroom, and every time I get up to get one, I wind up doing some other random thng and not taking the damn pill? I could do without that.

There's the theory that ADHD had eveloutionary benefits. Individuals with ADHD could focus on e.g. picking berries.
Here's an article about it:

ADHD Traits Might Have Helped Hunter-Gatherers Collect More Food While Foraging, Study Suggests

Participants who self-reported ADHD behaviors were better at an online berry-picking game than those who did not report such traits

@adhd_coffee

what does the sign ask? It's too blurry.

@adhd_coffee I’m one of the lucky ones who actually did well at my job despite undiagnosed ADHD. When I was diagnosed I immediately got on Adderall so that I could help out more around the house. It helped some at work too, and surprisingly also helped a little bit with Autistic sensory overwhelm, but the goal was definitely daily needs over career.
@adhd_coffee me hating capitalism and all the damage it causes predated my diagnosis. That’s just common sense.

@adhd_coffee One size fits with conditioning education to serve slave workers to the system.

AuDHD people more likely to see the game.

@adhd_coffee my kids have been diagnosed and are convinced I am just undiagnosed with ADHD and I will have to say it depends. My kids seem absolutely normal to me, and NO I don't think normal average humans are evolved for modern life. Like I just consider myself on the normal spectrum and on the side towards disorganized and creative not organized and efficient. But I have met ADHD kids who were disabled and hyperactive, and that looks so uncomfortable.
