Why Not Zoidberg? 🦑Bought a new TV today for the first time in 17 years.
Forgot why I HATE modern TVs. Smart TVs have the worst UIs of any device in the history of mankind.
...As suspected, connecting our new TV box (that came with our new ISP) we now have two things connected to each other that has 90% the same functions. Should I sign in with my Netflix * account on my TV box or my Smart TV?
Just give me EITHER a non-smart High Quality TV, or a dumb TV box that just transfers the data from the Ethernet cable. Why BOTH?
* I don't actually have a Netflix account but it works as an example.

@WhyNotZoidberg mine has early "smart" features that are long since dead and I wish there was a firmware update that removed all that cruft in favour of being precisely just input selector and options
@devlin Yeah... our old one was one of the first generation "smart" ones...
Most irritating with the new one is that it auto-plays the Spongebob channel on the home screen. Haven't figured out how to default to anything else yet. (yes, apparently Samsung has a 24/7 spongebob channel you get automatically if you have a Samsung account).
We will be hooking the TV box up to it tomorrow but most use of it will be an external HDD.
@WhyNotZoidberg mine is pre "we can put ads on this?" Smart TV - all the "apps" will only show a black screen though apparently it has a web browser that I didn't know about
