Planning to have a chill evening repearing this old kitchen scale and soldering jacks to these cheap piezoelectric discs.

The scale is working again and I have this nice harness of weirdness dangling on my desk!

(CC: @noisio because of the awesome uMixa)

Applied physics 101 - so now I have a much more controlled and accurate striking method. Fun to use things from around the house like these tiny ice cream spoons we saved from somewhere!

*dancing around this cute little setup*

I bought a wind up toy during lunchtime yesterday and converted it to take Triggers 😀 and it has such a nice slap/snare character!

@zuggamasta I support this message
@winduptoy thanks for the support, I will build on that message
@zuggamasta daaaaamn this is so cool
@vacuumbeef it’s all a bit wonky still but the actual picked up and amplified signal sounds quite nice. I’ll keep documenting!
@zuggamasta I love how it went with the ball on kalimba in the video, very beautiful
@vacuumbeef Yeah, I'm currently building a tiny tube system to extend that idea a little further.
@zuggamasta Interesting percussive sequencing. Plus the YouTube embed worked!

@PaulMc So many things to learn with these pyhsical experiments. I want to tape up the unwanted notes to use a distinct scale... a bit of a cacophony at the moment.

And yeah, YT embedds work. But they deploy a new more invasive tracking... so be aware to always remove anything after and including the questionmark "?" in the URLs...
