This piece barely begins to describe the unprecedentedly deep and broad corruption permeating the criminals (families/cronies/etc) who run the US government. Yet it provides far better context than most of what we've seen from Big Journalism on the subject.

Has The Worm Finally Turned On Trump's Staggering Personal Corruption?

Did you catch the story about Trump trying to raid the Treasury to the tune of $10 billion? It's the latest in a string of grasping, grubby assaults on public integrity that have marked the Trump regime. This is not just the most corrupt presidency in American history; it is among the most corrupt r...

@dangillmor @mastodonmigration And letting it all happen has been a conscious and deliberate choice.

@heafnerj

@dangillmor @mastodonmigration well you voted them in.

Not only Trump, but have him Congress.

After he delivered such a successful trial period in Trump 45.

Plus, with the captured SCOTUS arguably the criminals are defining what is criminal so it's problematic calling them criminals, isn't it?

@yacc143 @dangillmor @mastodonmigration *I* most certainly did not, but a certain population indeed did.
@heafnerj @dangillmor @mastodonmigration You personally might have pulled in different directions, but the Americans as a whole still elected the wrecking crew.

@dangillmor I love Mona Charen's writing. But I disagree with her conclusion. Sort of.

I think the worm may be turning, as it were, but not just on Trump, against the Epstein Class as a whole. The Spray Painted Gold Gilded Age that all of them are exhibiting has worn very thin with people that can't afford meat.

There was the Bezos wedding, an utter obscenity that offended all moral humans worldwide, the DIY gold plastered 1959 Las Vegas makeover of the White House, the golden plane, and just this week...just this week alone, there was the godawful techbro billionaire takeover of the Met Gala, with their maralago faced fembots, and they put up a golden idol of Donald Trump and prayed to it.

The billionaires are doing the work for us of showing everyone why we shouldn't have billionaires.

Now, we just need to stop having billionaires. I suggest taxes. Taxes are nice. Or guillotines and seizure. Those are nice too. I'm open to ideas, is my point. ;)

@dangillmor I think you mean “parasitize” rather than “run”, because the only people actually running things are the mid and lower level grunts who haven’t been fired by DOGE.
@dangillmor haha just like russia, somehow more incompetent

@dangillmor Insanely huge crimes committed in near broad daylight. Policing of these criminals is near zero.

But the government is a public institution created to serve the public. It is the public right to restart a systemically failing system.

Of course, one thing the incumbents repeatedly do is protect their stay and make the public feel like they have no direct say at all. Ever.
