After upgrading my #Android phone a while back, I decided to take the old phone (Pixel 6) and backup all my photos, videos etc.

As I am copying them to my computer I was having a hard time finding where the voice recordings were located.

I take a LOT of voice recordings & haven't backed them up in years.

After doing a bit of reading it sounds like #Google sealed them off and you have to have root access unless you share them online.

WTF?!

#PocketPC would never do this to me.

@Judeau looking at the recorder app on my Pixel 6, I can select one recording by holding down on it, then go to the three dots at the top right and click select all. Then press the three dots top right again and click share>audio or transcript file>m4a at which point I can share the files through the usual sharing options. Maybe you could share through local send to your PC? I only have a couple recordings though so I may be missing something.

@finisek I had not used the old phone in several months. There were a bunch an updates, including a system update, so i went ahead and did those.

Before the update I'm pretty sure it only gave me the option to back up the files to drive/ the website or Notebook LM.

I just finished updating everything and I do now see an option to share locally!

Thank you!

I probably should have updated everything in the first place before going on a rant. 😂
