Ok, another failed rapid charge.
We managed 65% to 66%, £1.28, and it shut off.

Firstly, we had to use a debit card, as the Electroverse card still brought up an error.

Secondly, only a 1% charge, and then it stopped within a few minutes, despite the car dash saying 41 minutes to full charge when the charge started.

Thirdly, is the type 2 socket on the car ok?
The CP pin is shorter than the CC pin. Is that normal?

Thank you.

We tried rapid charging again today at the same charger, but other outlet. We follow the rapid 'plug in, lock, charge' advice, and started the charge using the Electroverse app.
We charged from an amazing 50% to 54%, 2.57kWh and £1.77, before it stopped again!

Woo fucking hoo!

We have been out trying a different rapid charger location.
First try we got 10 minutes, 5.51kWh, before it stopped.
Tried again and got 2.58kWh minutes before it stopped.
Then the charger showed an error.
Went to a different charger. That stayed on 'charging' but no electrons changed hands.
Tried another and got 3.61kWh before it cut out.

We then went to a 22kw charger at another location, and that worked. We got 1.66kwh over 11 minutes, and it was still going when we decided to disconnect and leave before we had car park charges.

I think there is an issue with the DC rapid charge on the car.

We are now back on the granny lead charger at home.

@Maker_of_Things Did you buy the car from a dealer? I wonder if it should be their problem.

@jarkman
It was a from a small dealer on an industrial estate, I will be in touch with them to see what they can do. I need to satisfy myself that it wasn't us, our Electroverse charge card, or the charger at Morrisons.

I am suspecting it is the charger in the car, not working properly.

I have found, via reviews and the MG EV forum, that local branded MG dealers are worse than useless.

@jarkman
Now we have tried all the possible ways to be sure it isn't us doing it wrong, we are taking the car back to the dealer tomorrow morning to get a diagnostics check.
He is suspecting it might be 'the common MG charge socket fault', in which case he will get one to replace it.

We'll see how it goes.
