Bloody beautiful. šŸ’œ
@eyesquash @punishmenthurts Seconded! This is wonderful. What a great vibe and execution. The lead and rhythm guitars compliment each other nicely, and I can understand all the lyrics! For years I didn’t know some of the words Stevie Nicks was singing.
@NigelTufnel Thank you very much, man! I appreciate the appreciation! :)
Your new mic setup looks killer. I'm just using a Berhringer SM57 clone.
@eyesquash Thx man I hope to find out how it records tonight

it’s completely different, right? I remember the song as a sort of a ragtime picking deal, like Alice’s Restaurant.
.
I think that’s how it was on the radio and I’m sure that’s how he played it when I saw him in Whitehorse, with only a guy on bass with him. I don’t remember the smooth lead all the way through like in what’s the Van Morrison tune, Wavelength, wow!
.
Very cool. šŸ‘

@punishmenthurts Thanks!
Yes, my version's from memory, and I just felt like playing a lot of fuzz lead, so I put that in. And I strummed because I cant really finger-pick yet.

I only went and listened to the original after I recorded it. Just as you say, finger-picking, Alice's Restaurant style, and in the key of E, rather than G, where I put it.

@eyesquash
.
oh wow, you work without refreshing your memory too??!?
.
If I go back and listen to the pro version, I tend to give up and never try. šŸ’œ
.
A great result, well done. šŸ‘
@punishmenthurts I hear you - I can't do a convincing cover, so I do a garage version. AND often, I like to play to the memory of a song rather than a recording, because I want to share what's in my head, rather than the real thing.

wow, sib from another crib. šŸ’œ

Same. Sometimes I’ll take liberties with lyrics, like I love the Stones’ Worried About You, but I can’t sing, ā€œI guess you know by now, that you’re not the only one,ā€ I ain’t Mick, I sing something about my habit, my bong instead. šŸ˜€
