Okay... I think I finally have my shit together enough to finally announce it now... The Calamity Wiki is live!!!! Calamity is a worldbuilding project I've been working on for the last 10 years

There's hundreds of pages of content and the first chapter of a story called Project Alderon you can go there and read right now! (Boosts are encouraged!)

(Some of the pages are still not up to the highest standard I'd like yet, and many don't have wiki infoboxes, I'm slowly working through those. But that's of course something that'll take time. All the major stuff should have them, though!)

For anyone curious, setting this up has been a bit of a challenge, since I use Obsidian to author all my content. I wrote a bespoke plugin to strip out my internal stuff and add like infoboxes and categories based on the document metadata. There’s also special properties to cascade navboxes etc

It parses everything using the marked.js library, then uses custom parser/renderer functions to transform the markdown tokens into valid mediawiki syntax. Then it fetches all the pages and uploads only the ones with a modified timestamp than the last revision

It’s parallelised so it’s quite performant even in force mode with hundreds of pages and it even runs on the mobile version of the Obsidian app just fine! I’ll probably make it open source at some point for people who want to do the same thing I did
