There's always something wonderful, no matter what the weather, about visiting the Ring of Brodgar, as we did again today
We got chatting to the Countryside Ranger, who looked familiar. And yes, I'd met her before.
She showed us around the Ring of Brodgar in 2008, as part of our induction for the UHI Scottish Culture degree I started then. Here's that group.
Also wonderful how life in the Highlands and Islands is so much a series of making of connections among folk. We had quite a few mutual acquaintances.
I emailed her the more recognisable snaps I took back then, as a thank-you.
I don't know how many times I've been to the Ring of Brodgar. But somehow, every time there seems to be a new angle from which to see and snap the stones. The landscape conspires with the stones to generate change. Or something else happens to make it new, fresh, important.
Some pics over the years to try to show this
@withaveeay That’s some damn fine #StandingStoneSunday imagery there. Thanks for sharing.
