@ketan there's a lot of anti-windfarm sentiment here in Donegal, and one oft-cited reason is that it ruins the natural beauty of the landscape.
Sigh...
@hyc @ketan There is (or was) an offshore wind farm proposed for a site 10-11 miles off Maryland’s eastern shore. Last time I visited there were a bunch of anti-wind farm flyers claiming that it would ruin the ocean views from the beaches and harm the tourism industry.
But the horizon is 3 miles away, if you’re standing on the beach. You wouldn’t be able to see the wind farm at all. It’s ridiculous.
@virtualwolf @ketan that’s a Wanderer Above the Sea of Fogs reference
@ketan these are powerful symbols. Maybe not of sustainable communities and resilient infrastructures we will all need, but for sure for the industrial transition.
There is awe in them.
They have also been working on some massive solar power projects too.
China is an amazing country and they seem to be moving forward in technology at a rapid pace. 👍
Great to see sheep grazing between solar PV panels.
How many sheep do you see graze the coal stockpiles of a thermal power plant or atop a nuclear reactor?
