Has anyone made the switch from #KDE Plasma to #COSMIC?

I'm tempted to rebase my #Fedora #Kinoite to #COSMIC Atomic now that COSMIC Files has scripting support: https://github.com/pop-os/cosmic-files/pull/1728

Things I discovered in a VM that I would be missing out on:
- inhibiting screen blanking
- wallpaper of the day

Things I'd gain:
- automatic tiling
- a simpler, less cluttered desktop

Things I'm concerned about:
- stylus support

Has anyone made the switch and is (un)satisfied with it?

@fosstastic for Wayland you would also have a completely different compositor, which can be a good or bad thing - a lot of hidden factors.
Automatic tiling is possible with kwin. I don't know about the desktop clutter.

@thaodan With desktop clutter I mostly mean some shortcomings KDE Plasma has due to its extremely modular nature.

For instance, one thing I always disliked the most is that each new screen gets a default layout (wallpaper, panel, desktop folder).
In any other desktop new screens inherit the wallpaper and sometimes the panel, which is great if you are doing presentations or switch monitors a lot.

@fosstastic Oh I understand that. But does each screen get the default layout? I'm not sure. As far as I know each new screen starts with an empty layout.

@thaodan Yes, that's correct. Depending on the distro, it can include showing the desktop folder though, which is something you might not want when doing presentations.

In general it's strange that the desktop folder is not shared across screens, like in any other desktop environment, instead each screen displays its own instance of the folder.

As I've used GNOME for a decade, I like desktops without icons, so it's less of an issue for me, but for other people it sometimes is.

@fosstastic Maybe you used a distribution that modified the defaults? There's a default setting for the first monitor but that shouldn't affect subsequent monitors.
