Mostly on a terrain building spree today for a planned #Necromunda board. Took a break from building to paint this Zone Mortalis floor tile, which will start its life in my light box once it’s dry, for miniature photography.

@renegadejade That looks very cool! What's your painting technique?
@koz Thank you! I spray painted it black first, then drybrushed a mid grey, a metallic silver, and a light brown. Once that was dry, I stippled on the rust effect with an old brush and finally added the grime effect in select areas.
@renegadejade It works really well for terrain like this. Did you use a rust effect paint or something?
@koz I do have more expensive enamel ink rust effects for miniatures but didn’t want to waste them on something this big. I just used an orange dry acrylic paint called Ryza Rust from Citadel in this case.
@renegadejade I think it still works well, especially at table height. I agree that the enamel effect paints are both quite expensive and not the thing you want to work with at large scales - the smell alone scares me.
