this is what happens to every cable you throw away. think about that before you get rid of that box of computer cables you've been hoarding since 1997
@tubetime The carnage! What if someone needed a PS/2 keyboard cable!
@yngmar PS/2 might come in handy as some industrial devices used it for comm. Also I see lot of cinch cables I might have used
Yes, this year I already bought one because I ran out of them!
@tubetime

@j4n3z @yngmar @tubetime PS/2 is still used in some context, like in industry indeed where a lot of "legacy" plugs and boards are still used, or where USB is not an ideal choice for inputs, is interrupt based and it works in any case where USB would fail.

I miss is missing nowdays from many boards outside some of the cheapest one, and implemented just half usually. :/

@tubetime As well as my own collection of cables I inherited my dads; and also my dads box of 'half-cables' - ones that at some point had sacrificed an end to another project; the half cables are great to keep - often you'll need to make a cable and have half of the work already done!
@tubetime I feel the urge to say, that my (~2005 started) box of old cables already reaches bottom as I started repairing old stuff for myself, friends and family
@tubetime turns out there is always a bigger bin of cables out there
@tubetime That already looks like the box of cables I have been hoarding since 1997 😅
@tubetime How did you get a photo of my spare cable drawer 8)
@tubetime Why would I be throwing away a perfectly good box of cables that I've been hoarding since 1997?
@tubetime I will keep you safe, I will keep you safe forever.
@tubetime
Dammit, there's the one I need.
