The interesting thing about #TTRPGs is reading up on a variety of things to get insight to something you are making.

A little bit ago I was reading up on Ares which is the diety for a couple of the PCs.

I was looking for what his holy symbol might be.

Interestingly he doesn't. I think in part because per the few posts I read he didn't "take sides" in a battle. He just likes wars and I guess the action in them.

So, no strong iconography like the others.

There are suggestions of helmets and swords but nothing specific.

So I made up a symbol with a helmet and a sword underneath it. Called it an ancient version of Ares' symbol.

Recently a cleric of Mordezzan was bit by werewolf and needs to deal with that infection.

Mordezzan is the diety for death. Not in an evil way but a mater of fact, neutral way.

Much like war, death is just part of "life", but they have a skull for a symbol. So that makes that part easier.

Just pondering the theology of dieties that aren't terribly opinionated, but their followers might be.

An amusing thing about the Ares followers, one is a priest that we call "crossfit jesus" because they have rather good physical stats for class that is basically like a ecclesiastical wizard (no armor, now hit points).

They are chiding the other party members for not getting in "their reps" and stuff. While they are doing burpees, pushups, planks, etc.

All in the name of Ares, an uncaring diety, but he has a follower that "wants to be ready to throw down" because war.

By a character that has the second lowest hit points and possible the lowest armor class.

But hey, gotta love a player and party committed to the bit.
