Wow. #Payoneer emailed me to say they closed my account without providing any information as to why in a manner that I first thought was spam.

"Please note, we will not be able to reactivate your Payoneer account.
We will also not be able to reply to any queries you send to our Customer Care Department."

I don't log in often so I'm not sure if there's any money left in the account. I hope not. I used it for payouts from Patreon because they were cheaper than PayPal. What a shitty company.

My suspicion is that it's about me writing erotica, even though that is not even listed as a "prohibited transaction", only pictures, videos, and games with adult content are explicitly prohibited in their guidelines.

I didn't like #Payoneer before this but kept my account because the only alternative for #Patreon transactions is PayPal and PayPal has ridiculous fees for currency conversion.

#PayPal also updated their ToS with some AI bullshit that I want to quit them too.

Banks, amIrite?

@AimeeMaroux
How much did they steal, and from how many other people, I wonder.
@Photo55 I am certain that if there is any money left in my account, they won't pay it out. But I've *usually* transferred everything and kept the balance at $0.00 because I suspected shit like this and also got randomly locked out of my account another time. But others might just lose their whole remaining balance. Fucking thieves!
@AimeeMaroux If you want to make a thing of it, you could try to email their security contact saying that you think there is an email scam 🙂
@steely_glint Thanks! It isn't a scam because I can't log into my account any more and I got in touch with customer care even though the email said they wouldn't reply. But it sure looks like a scam email IMO because it lacks any details. But I guess there is no immediate call to action that a phishing email would have.
