Universal Blue/Bazzite/Silverblue/other immutable Linux friends: (why) should I be using Homebrew? #Linux #Homebrew #Bazzite #uBlue #Fedora #Silverblue
I find it most useful for tools that I want high system integration with that flatpak may be annoying for. So my text editor is installed with brew. It can also be used for things like additional shells. The repo itself is also good for some misc tools, like ramalama 1/2
I've even found a BBC iPlayer downloader on there, which I thought would be too niche. It's definitely worth a look sometimes.

The only thing I've installed with it on bazzite-dx/aurora-dx is neovim. It feels fine?

Overall the switch from primarily Debian based systems to the immutable idioms of everything is flatpak or homebrew perturbs me for some reason that I can't really put my finger on, but I haven't had any issues from embracing that aspect of them being the preferred solution of the OS for installing stuff.

More people use use brew on Debian than Bluefin. This is why the word "immutable" makes no sense lol. Cassidy could have just said:
