Morning Mastodonians!

I do not know how you folks do it. Today is my third morning in the office, and all this peopling has me completely burned out. I really need my long, quiet days of working from home alone. I feel especially bad for the dogs who haven’t gotten their walkies for a few days. I decided not to go to Planet Fitness this morning so I could get in early and leave early to take them for a walk. At least I’ve been getting free lunches.

I came in #today because it is our group board game lunch. Last month, I brought Take Five (6 Nimmt), which went over very well. But I probably went overboard in the games I brought today, so I should edit them down. Maybe just the new hotness, Flip 7. I also brought Liar's Dice, High Society, and Green Team Wins. We’ll have between eight and 10 people, so we should probably break into two groups. I even brought in the classic Nuclear War, the perfect team-building game. 😸

It’s good to see the #NHLBruins back in the playoffs. I don’t really expect much from them in the post season because they have been so inconsistent. They should have great goaltending, and they seem to be pretty healthy, so maybe they can sneak away with a series win. But that is my highest hope. There’s nothing like playoff #hockey, and there’s nothing like watching your team in playoff hockey.
The actual work in the #SaltMine has been going pretty well. It’s been nice focusing on a single project. I need to get my feature merged in. It has been eye-opening to learn how to transfer data and programs to the classified lab. It can be a tedious process, indeed. No matter how much you try to emulate things on the “low“ side, you always run into a weird twist.

Be safe. Wash your hands. Watch your distance. Wear your N95 mask. Vaccinate! Boost!

@jdarnold Green Team Wins gave me school flashbacks. Everybody agrees that a thing is cool, without consultation, and whatever you pick is the wrong answer. But I'll point out that Sea Salt & Paper fits in a small box, and I've written a mini rulebook for it at https://tekeli.li/rogers-rules/ .

@RogerBW I am so bad at it. my kids insist that I play so they can laugh at me! I will definitely check out those rules. Great site!
