Are you using Signal to conduct job interviews and work meetings?  ðŸ‘€

If yes, what do you like about it?
If not, why not?

@Em0nM4stodon I have, yes. People who are security conscious either already have Signal or are willing to install and use it.

OTOH, I’m not happy at all that my account must be tied to a phone number. I’ve given up all uses of old fashioned phone numbers, and it’s a shame that Signal has no way around that.

@AnachronistJohn @Em0nM4stodon you can just create an ID and give that out instead of your phone number.
@minternational @Em0nM4stodon I’m talking about needing a phone number to do anything with a Signal account (create one, sign in).
@AnachronistJohn @Em0nM4stodon I understand. What’s the problem with it? :)

@minternational @Em0nM4stodon The phone system is completely insecure, and I don’t want to use it.

Is it a foreign idea that someone might not want to use something that sucks, regardless of the fact that most other people do that thing?

@AnachronistJohn @Em0nM4stodon no it isn't. To be honest, I like it.

@minternational @Em0nM4stodon Ummm… And that’s relevant to this discussion how?

Caller ID can be falsified. SIM takeovers aren’t horribly expensive. If you’re OK with that, great, but some of us know enough to not be OK with that.
