@Em0nM4stodon I have, yes. People who are security conscious either already have Signal or are willing to install and use it.

OTOH, I’m not happy at all that my account must be tied to a phone number. I’ve given up all uses of old fashioned phone numbers, and it’s a shame that Signal has no way around that.

@minternational @Em0nM4stodon The phone system is completely insecure, and I don’t want to use it.

Is it a foreign idea that someone might not want to use something that sucks, regardless of the fact that most other people do that thing?

Caller ID can be falsified. SIM takeovers aren’t horribly expensive. If you’re OK with that, great, but some of us know enough to not be OK with that.
