Good affordable steel road bike frames? IS/post disc brake and rear rack mounts. Right now Milwaukee Bicycle is winning the search game.

My kid has claimed my nice carbon road bike. I'm now of the age where smooth steel is where it's at.

Salsa Vaya seems to check the boxes too. Appears the MKE Bicycle doesn't. Misread.
@idropyou Surly has a good selection of steel frames with lots of mounting options
@clifff I love Surly. Preamble seems like it could fit the bill.
@idropyou that’s exactly what I ride!
@clifff How is yours setup? I'd be going drop bars, 2x10. Seems like it could be a bit porky, but the components are light that would go on it.
@idropyou still the stock flat bar setup, gonna add fenders and front rack soon. It’s not light but I’m really just a commuter/utility rider so 🤷
@clifff That color is great too.
@idropyou how come you are looking for IS and post mount for disc brakes? Isnt everything flat on modern bikes?
@0xCDE Because I'd be moving parts from a bike with those pieces and do not want to have to buy all new components.
@idropyou fair enough, im just asking since you can futureproof your investment and probably get a better frame or have options from more manufacturers if you just change just get a new or used set of flat mount disk brakes

@0xCDE That's a stretch and a common trope to get people to blow more money. You can still buy good rim brakes. Shimano hydro calipers/TRP Spyres/BB7s in post mount sure as hell aren't going to go away any time soon and can have amazing lifetimes.

I'm still riding perfectly good bikes from the 1970s and 80s.

Stop cluttering posts with stuff people don't ask for.

@idropyou im not trying to sell you anything, im just asking for your pov
