If scientists attempted to determine the nicest person on the internet, what would the criteria be? How would they be measured?
@h2onolan 🤔 niceness is like ethics: the more important or famous you are, the more you are tested. How do you weigh random person who is nice to 20 people versus famous person being nice to a million and rude to 1000? Is niceness to horrible people even a net positive, or is it nicer to be rude when rudeness is warranted?

@DaveFlater internet fame wildly influences any perception of “niceness” doesnt it. I suppose being “on the internet” requires interaction with others which makes it difficult to measure any niceness associated with lurkers.

I made a committment a while back to only say nice things to people on a certain zuck owned ragefactory. Ive mostly stuck with it but only due to limited use and its still a challenge to not snark at people with awful opinions

@h2onolan sea lioning is just one example where the niceness of a target is exploited by bad actors. If you have a low profile you don't get targeted by that type of internet threat, but office sharks will do the same thing on a smaller scale.
