I found the translations for my favorite self-hosted music streaming app a bit lacking.

So I rolled up my sleeves and did something about it :3

First time using Android Studio, too, in order to test them on my own device and an emulated Android Tablet x)

@SebinNyshkim I set up Navidromr recently! I use Navic on my device, but Tempus seems like it might be nice.

May I ask how big your music collection is?

@nieuemma ohhh, Navic also looks quite snazzy! I like the looks!

My library has 53,493 songs, in 1,328 albums, coming in at 790 GB. Most of it is game soundtracks x)

@SebinNyshkim dang, I've got a little over 10 thousand songs. ~260GB of FLAC, Takes about 19GB as 64kbps Opus.

If you are interested at all, you can see my server at https://musiclibrary.app

I've got 300+ songs that are freely licensed under user 'guest', password 'guest'.

I was quite pleased with the URL I got.

@nieuemma I wanted to give Navic a try, but it keeps crashing with out of memory errors.

My best guess is that the number of items it tries to load on the home screen immediately exhausts its allocated memory 🤔 it just stutters for a while and then bails before I can do anything.

Seems like my library is so big it can't handle it.

When I put yours in it doesn't crash.

@SebinNyshkim bummer! It has served me well so far. I do hope to keep adding music to my collection, but I can't imagine having 50000+

@nieuemma Might open an issue on the GitHub to let the dev know. Maybe they can figure it out from the stack trace the app shows.

I'm somewhat of a hoarder 😆

@SebinNyshkim I got rid of my GitHub account a while ago. I like Codeberg, but of course a tonne of stuff is only on GitHub.

I figure if I can ever do it, 120,000 songs is likely around the limit I could store on my phone, in under 250GB.

@nieuemma I opened an issue about the crash on the GitHub. I'll see what the dev thinks.

I only let the app sync songs marked as favorite and converted to Opus, to save on space on my phone.
