To anyone currently making their own game, I'd like to ask if anyone else has had this sort of gripping fear when considering publishing anything on their project early with the rise of AI lately.

I've had an idea in mind for a while now but I'm afraid to share anything about it bc of AI, and as a result, I've just not had any motivation to work on the project, since I feel stuck in my options/choices.

The fear of having my work plagiarized is utterly paralyzing and I hate it.

@masterbronetwork I haven't. It would suck to be undercut by some slopper, but it wouldn't change the fact that I still need to create these things for my own creative outlet. I'm not even trying to beat real games to market, let alone fake ones.

Besides, whatever a slopper throws together will be garbage by definition. I am very confident that I can make my own games better than they can, even if they did find my little ultra-niche RPGs worth the effort to vibe-steal.

@midnightspire True, after I posted this and sent my reply to @mika, I did think some more about it and took a look at other people's perspectives as well, and I think I'm going to try and share my work when it gets to a point where I feel it's ready, but I'm also going to try and refrain from leaking too many details so it can't be ripped off as easily.
@masterbronetwork I probably responded too much about motivation and not enough about sharing. The genre that I work in probably influences my perspective. I spend a lot of time crafting and tuning my content, and I tend not to share a lot of specifics about content in the first place. My hand-crafted dungeon design is absolutely core to the experience I'm creating, so I guess I'm not overly worried about what a slophole could assemble from my screenshots.

@midnightspire Sorry, I only just saw this since I don't login all too often and I've had a very stressful few weeks since this post.

Personally, it's just that it now feels harder than ever to stay motivated when these trolls try to steal your own work by feeding it into an AI, making you never want to share in the first place, and if they're going to steal someone's work, at least put more effort into it than dropping sneak peeks into an LLM and going "pls clone this bc i have no decency lol"
