Finally looking to design something anew rather than simply printing others' designs with my Creality K1C. Facing some analysis paralysis with choice of modeling program so I thought I'd put up a poll. (pls boost)

My preference would be to stick with one tool for simple designs and for something potentially more complex later, which is why I'm not specifying the project for the purpose of this poll. I am prepared for some pain, though I'd like to limit the amount of plastic wasted during prototyping. I do have calipers so at least I can get accurate measurements :)

@nmott my impression is the openSCAD is good for people with a programmer mindset who want to define the part geometry with mathematical equations. This isn't the way I think about part geometry so I haven't tried it.

@Argonel yeah my past fiddling with CAD tools were hindered by my inability to visualize (changes to / operations on) abstract objects, so OpenSCAD’s approach seems appealing from the outside, but I’m open to the rational response being to “get good” at the non-programmatic tools.

(aphantasia is fun and weird)
