Good people of Mzansi, if you happen to have a Nexxt ‘CAT-6’ LAN cable, it might be a good idea to give it a quick check or replace it.

This morning, while I was updating OpenWRT, I noticed that the connection to my NC Server only shows up as 100 Mbps, even though I have a gigabit router and everything else is showing as 1 Gbps.

I swapped out the cable, and guess what? It now shows up as 1 Gbps, and everything is blazing fast!

@pee Just so you know, obviously Mzansi CAT-6 cables come in two versions: ‘city’ and ‘village’.

No hard feelings to the village folks!

@pee another good reason to avoid Nexxt products... but surprised nonetheless ! Or are they just dumping the defective sub-standard stuff in Africa?

The usual thing - American companies and SA companies getting stuff made in China at the lowest possible price, with their branding, and massive margin.
