Ok let’s crowdsource this shit. I know there’s some #discworld nerds on here.

I want to make a playlist where I have one song for each book in the series. Eg Thief of Time is obviously Clocks by Coldplay, Pyramids is Walk Like An Egyptian, Small Gods is Losing My Religion. Songs should be bangers and also thematically appropriate. (I have a list for a lot of them, I’ll post it after this has had a chance to make the rounds.)

Aaaaand: go. Mastodon do your thing.

A Death novel ( maybe Reaper Man): B.O.C.’s Don’t Fear The Reaper.
Wyrd Sisters: Witchy Woman.
Witches Abroad: Nina Simone’s I put a spell on you

@cascheranno I definitely have “O Death” by Jen Titus earmarked for one of the Death books: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScP5Nv-EhZI
Jen Titus - O' Death Full song - supernatural

YouTube
@swachter oh, and Hogfather: Buster Poindexter (aka David Johansen, also of the New York Dolls) “Zat You Santa Claus”

@swachter

Night Watch - chumbawumba: Tubthumping - (“I get knocked down…”)

@cascheranno @swachter Night Watch felt more like "Before You Disperse" by Louis Barabbas to me, or maybe "Freedom is a Verb" by Daniel Kahn.
@eobet @cascheranno I was considering "Which Side Are You On" by Pete Seeger or else Do You Hear The People Sing from Les Miz, but OOH I love Freedom is a Verb
@swachter @cascheranno Classics! But also, for Night Watch I guess Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show also works! Ok I’ll stop now. 😂
@cascheranno @swachter as above, I also only recently realised the band is Chumbawamba, and not (as we'd been saying since school) Chumbawumba 😱

@noodlemaz
A: holy hell. TIL it is Chumbawamba not Chumbawumba.

And B: why TF does autocorrect meddle wrongly for so many ambiguities, but Not This!?
