The panel in front of the earth is visibly moving.

(This is as close as I’ll ever get to returning to earth, so find this so exciting. :))

We are moving so fast that the earth is going off screen again. :)

I don't think it's too high. You don't hear about ISS getting hit on the regular, and this is just one pass through the zone.

But if it DOES get struck, it'll make a pretty big pit at the much higher relative speed!

It may be above a lot of it -- I don't know about distribution. But ISS and Shuttle have been struck in the past.

Thing is, we're talking about TINY stuff -- even a 1 gram fleck of paint carries bullet-like levels of energy at those speeds.
