That kind-of explains the blind adherence to “scale is all you need”.

I can sort-of excuse it from Hinton and LeCunn, covered in scars as they are from 40 years of symbolic AI vs connectionism battles, but the new generation at the head of OpenAI and Anthropic both seem to be a billion-dollar foolish in their pursuit of “scale”
