@dweb @tommi hey 👋 I like a lot of the things that dweb seems to be about, and if I wasn't otherwise available I would have considered attending...
However, 730EUR for a regular ticket is way higher than I could possibly consider.
For reference, I'm involved with organising a small alt tech event, and our ticket price is 45GBP including accommodation and food for 3 nights. And emf camp is ~190GBP.
I genuinely don't get who are the people that can afford 730EUR? and why the costs are so high?

I am glad to e-meet you, I started following you after a visit at Animorph when @sirodoht was working there (me and Theo met at DWeb Camp 2023!) and they suggested me to follow you 😉
I am, we are, fully aware that the prices of DWeb Camp are not the most accessible. I am not directly involved in the budget, so I cannot give a full reply, but the determining factor is that the ticket of DWeb Camp is not merely for camp itself, but also for paying a part-time staff that stewards the global DWeb community over the whole year. We intend to write and publish a more detailed explainer soon.

We work hard to support participation to camp for everyone who wants join. Nevertheless, we have many costs to cover, most notably fairly paying a staff that works during the whole year to steward the worldwide DWeb community.
