I still remember when having a laptop was some kind of impossible; a super technology that we didn't have access to. Just having a PC in home was luxury.
In 2023 I had to buy one laptop for a job, and spent literally 100 bucks for an used Intel i3 10th gen with 8 gb RAM and a 256 SDD that works PERFECTLY until today for any office automation, youtube videos, movies, etc.
Honestly, everytime I turn this thing on I can't believe it.

I'm with ya! I am a strong advocate for the used #thinkpad market - incredible #Linux (and #bsd?) machines for any budget $50 or bigger.
I'm running a radio station server (backup) on a 2006 thinkpad. It just always works. Insane.

@sb for real, I think advertising and tech propaganda are so strong and deep, that people doesn't have a clue about what they are buying. My first laptop was a 2007 macbook and it worked for me perfectly until 2020.. and it was only because its HDD hard drive damaged.
Since 2000 I've been a Linux fan, but never had it, I think it will be my next big tech step! Do you recommend a YT channel or webpage for beginners?

I think you're bang on there.
As far as learning Linux... I would recommend just trying it out! Download a live image for #LinuxMint or #Ununtu, install it on a thumbdrive, and run it live. This way you can try it as much as you'd like without committing to installing it.
Get a feel for it, play around, and when you have questions, there is a wealth of support information for the above-mentioned distro.
I'm afraid I'm not aware of any excellent "getting started with Linux" type resources, but maybe the #fedi will have some suggestions?
