Fedi Friday Winlink Net – W0RMT radio blog

@bud_t I just checked into the #FediFridayWinlinkNet using 2m packet node WA3WLH-10 via the Camelback Mountain, CMLBK, digipeater.

There are only 22 hours and 30 minutes left to check into the #FFWN, so drop everything you're doing and join us!

Original Winlink Wednesday

The original Winlink Wednesday is a weekly amateur radio digital net where check-ins are accomplished by using the Winlink (global email via amateur radio) system.

@ON4CDJ @bud_t I should try to check into that net as well. I like to use different modes just as a practice for myself, but also to encourage the operators of various nodes to keep things running. I'm sure if no one would use things like the packet nodes it would be really easy for the ops to just shut those nodes down if no one used them. I wouldn't blame them one bit if they did.
@kr1st @bud_t Well that's how it went overhere and many other places, as packetradio was popular in the 90s but then the interwebs became more and more popular and that was the start of the decline and eventually shut down of the packet network. I think there are abt 4 nodes left here in the whole country, all out of reach for me ofcourse 😏
@kr1st @bud_t OK I just transmitted my first #FediFridayWinlinkNet check-in on 20m HF....heyho ! 🤓
