After reading about Finland's #SocialDemocratic history & the building of the Nordic #welfare states, one thing is painfully clear: they were build by serious, pragmatic team players willing to do the boring work. Flashy, self-aggrandising contrarians who loved their own voice were *useless.*

I've said this before, but platforming & following these credulous egoists is doing the #progressive movement & policies more harm than good. #Ukraine & Russian #imperialism is the easiest credulity test in 80 years. Following anyone who fails it is *dangerous.* Their judgement *cannot be trusted.*

An anecdote that summarises the building of the #welfare state. A young aide to a long-time Finnish Social Democrat prime minister Kalevi Sorsa once despaired of yet another boring, bureaucratic meeting. Sorsa said "son, that's what good #SocialDemocratic #politics are - concrete grey and boring."
