It would be good to get eliminated sooner and start working on points to get a franchise-altering high draft pick, though. We only have to look to the men's hockey team sharing the same roof for how not to draft, develop, or acquire game-breaking talent and be mired in mediocrity.

@alan That's all very valid and logical and the logical part of my brain appreciates that, but the hockey fan part of my brain is "nope, gotta beat the Goldeneyes" and the captain of her high school hockey team brain wants to rip off your head and spit down your neck for suggesting anything of the sort, WE PLAY TO WIN OR WE DON'T PLAY AT ALL xD

Fair enough, though I want to point out that Ron Francis was also a gritty hockey captain and shaping an expansion team in his image sure didn't turn out well! Under PWHL's Gold Plan rules, it would be possible for the Torrent to earn the best draft pick and still beat the Goldeneyes. But with the remaining games dwindling, I'm worried they're going to ruin their chances. I'd rather watch good hockey in future seasons than the ugly product of a directionless franchise like the Kraken.
