SATURDAY, MAY 2ND, SIDEWALK PROTEST ACROSS THE COUNTRY WE ARE STANDING UP FOR OUR COMMUNITIES. We support a tax on the rich so our families, not the fortunes of billionaires, come first; we demand ICE OUT of our communities and ending the private army serving authoritarian power; and we want to expand democracy, not corporate rule. And it’s up to us to organize and act together toward these goals. America was built on the backs of workers and defenders of our democratic values. We value the rule of law, adherence to our constitution, accountability, democratic principles, and a government of the people, by the people and for the people. We peacefully and non-violently exercise our first amendment rights and demonstrate to all that we stand proudly and patriotically in opposition to the Trump regime. Contact Concerned Citizens of Mason County Indivisible, for more information about our local resistance coalition, [email protected]. NON-VIOLENCE IS A MUST: Hate to keep harping on this, but what the Trump regime wants is violence! Your part will be to remain observant and calm in the face of taunting AND if you see something that makes you uncomfortable, you do not engage. You immediately contact one of our trained de-escalators in yellow/orange vests with walkie talkies. Shelton Police officers will be in our area and vigilant as well. We are first and foremost a non-violent movement. Let’s show everyone how we love America AND demonstrate our democratic values through non-violence! COMMUNITY SAFETY: We are first and foremost a non-violent movement. Should verbal abuse be directed at us, we do not engage in a disrespectful way. We do not escalate rhetoric toward violence, we de-escalate. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully, and respectfully, at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. WE SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH FOOD AND SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVES: IF YOU ARE ABLE, please bring NON-PERISHABLE FOOD and SCHOOL SUPPLIES to donate to our local food banks and school children. Many in our communities rightfully live in fear of illegal ICE activities and our working families are being torn apart because of that. Donations accepted on the sidewalk at the CCMCI table at the corner of First Street and Turner Avenue. Thank you for helping your neighbors. Suggested food items are those children would be more prone to eat straight from the package and/or be able to easily prepare...peanut butter, crackers, pop top canned proteins (chx/tuna...) ready noodles/rice, granola bars, no sugar added fruits, canned chili/soups/ravioli. School supplies could include markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks. Personal care items include tissues, disinfectant wipes, dental hygiene items, etc. STAY ENERGIZED AND PREPPED FOR THE WEATHER: Bring water and a light snack to stay hydrated and energized. As the weather dictates, we suggest wearing protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, raingear, etc. Bring a folding chair if you need to sit a bit while you protest. DATE: SATURDAY, MAY 2ND, 2026 TIME: 11am – 1pm MAKE SURE YOU GET COUNTED: Tickets/stickers will be distributed by volunteers to accurately count our resisters. LOCATION: The SIDEWALK along First Street (State Hwy 3) adjacent to Kneeland Park in Shelton. As overflow space is needed, standing room is available on the East side of Hwy 3. Please keep driveways clear. Spread out into the designated areas so your clever signs can be read by passersby! SIDEWALK/HIGHWAY SAFETY: We have the right to protest on the sidewalk, AND a responsibility to leave enough room for the public to easily walk by. The bike lane must stay completely clear of protestors and driveways clear. Kindly adhere to all traffic laws. There is a lot of traffic on First Street, so it is not safe, or legal, for anyone to cross in the middle of the road. Cross First Street only at intersections. RESTROOMS: and benches are available in the public park. PARKING: Please carpool if you can. Parking is very limited along Kneeland Park. Additional parking is across Turner Avenue way up behind the Shelton Athletic Club and along neighboring streets. Let’s be good neighbors and not block any driveways. BRING FRIENDS WITH YOU, and if they are not on our Concerned Citizens of Mason County Indivisible (CCMCI) email list and want to know more about CCMCI, they can contact [email protected]. WHAT’S NEXT YOU ASK? So many options to consistently engage our community with Honk & Waves! Courage begets courage! · EVERY MONDAY 3pm-5pm: Hwy 3, on sidewalk in front of Grocery Outlet, Belfair. · EVERY 1st AND 3rd SATURDAY of the month 11am-noon: on sidewalk in front of Kneeland Park, Shelton. · EVERY 4th SATURDAY of the month 11:30am-1pm: on sidewalk in front of the Port of Hoodsport, Hoodsport. Our coalition of partners across Mason County, and beyond look forward to seeing you. For more information about our local resistance coalition activities contact: Concerned Citizens of Mason County Indivisible at [email protected]. SEE YOU ON SOON with SMILES AND PATRIOTISM IN YOUR HEART! A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
